Summary
This study aimed to understand if a hormone called erythroferron helps patients recover their red blood cell levels after heart valve surgery. Researchers measured this hormone and hemoglobin levels in 150 adults undergoing elective surgery. The goal was to learn how the body naturally tries to correct anemia after a major operation.
