Robotic surgery may be easier on surgeons' bodies, small study suggests

NCT ID NCT06109753

First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study measured muscle activity in surgeons' shoulders and forearms while they performed hysterectomies using either robotic or conventional laparoscopic tools. The goal was to see which method causes less muscle strain, potentially reducing work-related injuries. Only 4 trained surgeons took part, so results are very early and not conclusive.
