First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tested whether a nerve block (erector spinae plane block) could prevent diaphragm problems after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy in 80 severely obese patients. The goal was to see if the block reduces breathing difficulties right after surgery. The trial compared the nerve block to standard care, measuring diaphragm movement and lung function.
