New drug combo aims to outsmart resistance in bone marrow cancer

NCT ID NCT04187703

First seen May 20, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026

Summary

This early-phase study tests a new way of giving two approved drugs (5-azacitidine and decitabine) to people with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) or related bone marrow disorders. The goal is to see if alternating low doses can overcome drug resistance and improve blood cell production with fewer side effects than standard chemotherapy. About 20 adults will take part.
