Could less radiation be better for HPV throat cancer?

NCT ID NCT07178301

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving a lower dose of radiation to the neck lymph nodes (not directly involved with the cancer) can reduce side effects while still curing HPV-related throat cancer. About 100 adults with early-stage HPV-positive throat cancer will receive this lower-dose radiation. The goal is to maintain excellent cure rates while improving quality of life.
