Colonoscopy add-on may spot hidden polyps
NCT ID NCT03560037
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tested whether a small plastic cap called Endocuff Vision, placed on the tip of a colonoscope, helps doctors find more precancerous polyps (sessile serrated adenomas) during routine colon cancer screening. About 427 adults getting a screening colonoscopy were randomly assigned to either standard colonoscopy or colonoscopy with the Endocuff attachment. The goal was to see if the device improves detection of hard-to-see polyps that can turn into cancer.
