First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) to regular exercise therapy helps young adults with cervical radiculopathy (pinched nerve in the neck causing pain, numbness, or weakness). Fifty participants aged 18-29 did 12 sessions over 6 weeks. One group did only exercises; the other group also received EMS on the shoulder blades during strengthening. The goal was to see if EMS improves neck muscle function and reduces symptoms.
