From visitor to caregiver: study shows NICU moms benefit from Hands-On role
NCT ID NCT06958458
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tested a program called Family Integrated Care for mothers of premature babies in the NICU. Instead of just watching, mothers were trained to help with daily care like diaper changes, skin-to-skin contact, and feeding. The goal was to see if this approach lowers stress and strengthens the bond between mother and baby. 60 first-time mothers took part, and the results measured their stress levels and attachment to their baby.
