Moms as caregivers: new approach eases NICU stress

NCT ID NCT06958458

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tested a program called Family Integrated Care for mothers of premature babies in the NICU. Instead of just visiting, mothers were trained to help care for their baby, like changing diapers and doing skin-to-skin contact. The goal was to see if this reduces stress and improves the bond between mother and baby. 60 first-time mothers took part.
