First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tested whether a type of talk therapy called EMDR works as well as antidepressant medication (SSRIs) for treating PTSD. Sixty adults with PTSD were randomly assigned to receive either EMDR therapy or an SSRI for six weeks. The main goal was to see how many people in each group had their PTSD symptoms go away by the end of the study.
