Can a tablet test spot brain fog before liver surgery?

NCT ID NCT03678441

First seen Nov 11, 2025 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study is testing whether an electronic cognitive assessment called BrainCheck can effectively screen for mental impairment in 100 patients scheduled for liver surgery. Researchers will compare how well patients complete the electronic test versus a traditional pen-and-paper test, and see if the electronic version is faster and more accurate. The goal is to find a better way to identify cognitive issues before surgery.
