Needles vs. stomach damage: can ancient practice heal modern gut woes?

NCT ID NCT07152860

Not yet recruiting Disease control Sponsor: Yi Liang Source: ClinicalTrials.gov ↗

Summary

This study is testing whether adding electroacupuncture to standard stomach-protecting medication helps people with chronic atrophic gastritis—a condition where the stomach lining becomes damaged and inflamed. Researchers will compare two groups: one receiving both electroacupuncture and medication, and another receiving only medication, to see which better reverses stomach damage and improves symptoms like pain and bloating. The trial will involve 100 adults who will receive treatments over 24 weeks while their symptoms and stomach health are monitored.
