Blood marker may predict frailty in elderly cancer patients
NCT ID NCT02807129
First seen Jan 22, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looked at 296 cancer patients aged 65 and older to see if a substance in the blood called elastin peptides can help measure frailty. Frailty is hard to judge with current methods, which are often slow and subjective. The goal is to find a more objective way to decide the best treatment for each older patient.
