Tapping away birth fear: new study tests emotional freedom technique for expectant moms
NCT ID NCT07000552
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tested Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), a therapy that combines tapping on acupressure points with cognitive techniques, to see if it could reduce fear of childbirth and improve birth memories and feelings of security after birth. Sixty-eight first-time pregnant women (32 weeks or more) were split into two groups: one received EFT sessions, the other did not. Researchers measured fear, memory, and security after delivery to compare the groups.
