First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study aimed to test a new tool called SONET that measures how crowded an emergency department (ED) is. Researchers planned to include 7,000 adults visiting six different EDs or urgent care clinics. The study was terminated early, so results are limited. The goal was to see if the tool could help hospitals better manage overcrowding.
