First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tested an inhaled solution of Ectoin, a natural substance, in 18 adults with mild asthma. The goal was to find a safe and effective dose that might reduce airway sensitivity. Researchers measured how much methacholine (a trigger) was needed to cause a 20% drop in lung function, comparing results before and after treatment.
