Summary

This study compares two brain stimulation treatments—electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and magnetic seizure therapy (MST)—in 200 people with major depressive disorder. Researchers will measure changes in depression and anxiety symptoms, heart rate, and cognitive function to see which therapy works better and has fewer side effects. Participants must be aged 12 to 80 and stable on their current medications.
