First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looked at 76 adults in intensive care who needed a lung machine (ECMO) for severe pneumonia. Researchers checked if giving the lungs rest by reducing ventilator support changed how well the kidneys worked. They used already-collected medical data, so patients didn't need to do anything extra.
