New combo therapy aims to relieve stubborn tennis elbow without surgery

NCT ID NCT07484516

First seen Mar 25, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests whether combining eccentric exercises (lengthening the muscle while it's under tension) with a muscle relaxation technique called MET can reduce pain and improve grip strength in people with tennis elbow. About 66 adults with subacute or chronic tennis elbow will be split into three groups: one gets both treatments, one gets only MET, and one gets only eccentric exercises. They will attend 8 sessions over 2 weeks, and researchers will measure pain, function, and range of motion before and after treatment.
