First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This trial tested a new treatment for a type of head and neck cancer linked to the Epstein-Barr virus. Researchers took patients' own immune cells, engineered them to recognize and attack the virus on cancer cells, and also added a feature to block a common cancer defense. The study involved 10 adults with advanced cancer that had spread or returned, aiming to find a safe dose and see if the treatment could control the disease.
