First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looked at 60 preterm very low birth weight babies to see if starting small "trophic" feedings earlier or later affects how long they stay in the hospital. Researchers also tracked the risk of a serious gut condition called necrotizing enterocolitis. The goal was to find the best feeding approach for these fragile newborns.
