NCT ID NCT06934655

First seen Mar 26, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looks at whether restarting the weight-loss drug semaglutide just two weeks after sleeve gastrectomy surgery helps teens with severe obesity lose more weight and improve their health. About 150 teens aged 12-18 who were already taking semaglutide before surgery will either restart the drug or receive standard care for 24 months. The goal is to see if early drug restart is safe and leads to better long-term weight control and heart health.
