Text messages could stop surgery pain from becoming chronic

Summary
This study tests whether finding and treating persistent pain just 3 months after surgery can prevent it from becoming chronic. About 2,000 people having minor surgeries like hernia repair or knee arthroscopy will be tracked. Half will get early treatment at 3 months, the other half at 6 months (current standard). The goal is to see if early action reduces pain at 6 months.
