New study aims to stop baby obesity before it starts
NCT ID NCT07494097
First seen Apr 06, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tests whether using secure digital tools to share information between pediatricians and WIC nutritionists can help new mothers learn responsive parenting—like feeding babies when they're hungry, not just to soothe them. About 380 pregnant women or new moms in Pennsylvania will be split into two groups: one gets this coordinated care, the other gets standard care. The goal is to see if this teamwork leads to healthier weight gain and eating habits in babies from birth to 24 months.
