NCT ID NCT01668745

First seen Feb 15, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tested whether giving babies an extra measles vaccine at 4 months old, in addition to the usual shot at 9 months, could lower their risk of dying before age 3. Over 4,500 children in Burkina Faso and Guinea-Bissau took part. Researchers wanted to see if early vaccination provides extra protection beyond just preventing measles.
