First seen May 23, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether reversing an ileostomy (a temporary opening in the belly for waste) at 8 weeks instead of the usual 12 weeks is safe and helps patients recover faster. 90 people with healed bowel connections took part.
