Can babies with exposed intestines eat sooner? new study investigates

NCT ID NCT06878950

Summary

This study is exploring whether it's possible and safe to start feeding babies with gastroschisis earlier than usual. Gastroschisis is a birth defect where a baby's intestines are outside the body. Researchers will enroll 20 stable, full-term infants to see if parents agree to the study and if the early feeding plan can be followed correctly.
