First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study uses health records to compare adding a second diabetes drug early in adults with obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart-kidney issues, and fatty liver disease. Researchers will look at whether adding a GLP-1 or SGLT2 drug within 90 days of starting treatment lowers the risk of death over 5 years. The study does not give any new treatments but observes what happens in real-world care.
