Chilling ear points to calm nerves before the knife

NCT ID NCT04836936

Summary

This study is testing whether a brief, cold therapy applied to specific points on the ear can help reduce anxiety in people about to have kidney cancer surgery. Researchers will enroll 60 patients with moderate anxiety and randomly assign them to receive either the real cold therapy or a placebo treatment that looks and sounds the same. The main goal is to see if this therapy lowers patients' need for strong painkillers after surgery and reduces their pre-operative worry.
