New study reveals Dupilumab's impact on aspirin sensitivity in severe asthma

NCT ID NCT05031455

First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated May 26, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looked at how dupilumab, a medication for asthma and nasal polyps, affects reactions to aspirin in people with Aspirin-Exacerbated Respiratory Disease (AERD). Sixteen adults already taking dupilumab for at least 12 weeks underwent an aspirin challenge to see if the drug changes their hypersensitivity response. The goal was to understand dupilumab's effect on the aspirin desensitization process, not to test a new treatment.
