First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding duloxetine (a nerve pain drug) to tramadol (a painkiller) helps people with chronic cancer pain use less tramadol. 400 adults with cancer pain who had not taken painkillers before took part. Half received duloxetine plus tramadol, the other half a placebo plus tramadol. The goal was to see if the combination lowers the amount of tramadol needed for pain relief.
