First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tests two ways to improve oral health in older adults who have both gum disease and mild cognitive impairment. One group uses a special light device plus a manual toothbrush, another uses a powered toothbrush, and a third uses a standard soft toothbrush. Researchers will measure plaque, gum bleeding, pocket depth, bad breath, and quality of life over 6 months in 90 participants aged 60 and older.
