Antibiotic-Cholesterol drug interaction study completed in 12 volunteers
NCT ID NCT06808646
First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looked at how a single antibiotic (ceftobiprole) changes the way the body processes a cholesterol-lowering drug (pitavastatin) and a natural substance (coproporphyrin I). Twelve healthy adults took pitavastatin alone and then with ceftobiprole to measure drug levels and safety. The goal was to understand potential drug interactions, not to treat any disease.
