Heart monitor trial aims to catch hidden rhythm problems after valve surgery

NCT ID NCT07521800

First seen Apr 22, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests whether wearing a portable ECG monitor for 30 days after transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVI) can detect dangerous heart rhythm issues better than the usual short hospital monitoring. 250 adults with severe aortic stenosis will be randomly assigned to either the extended monitoring or standard care. The goal is to see if catching these problems earlier leads to better treatment and fewer complications.
