New antibiotic battle for Kids' pneumonia: which drug wins?

NCT ID NCT07306234

Summary

This study compares two antibiotics—doxycycline and azithromycin—to see which works better for treating a specific type of pneumonia in children. Researchers want to know if doxycycline reduces fever faster and if it's safe for children's teeth. Children aged 3-17 with confirmed or suspected Mycoplasma pneumonia will take one of the antibiotics for 7-14 days and be monitored for fever, symptoms, and tooth color changes.
