New hope for gout sufferers: experimental drug dotinurad enters phase 2 trial

Summary
This study tests a new drug called dotinurad for adults with gout who cannot take common medications or did not respond to other treatments. The goal is to see if dotinurad can safely lower uric acid levels over 24 weeks. About 90 participants will receive either the drug or a placebo.
