First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looked at how a specific nerve block (pectointercostal fascial plane block) affects blood flow in 40 adults having planned heart surgery. Researchers used Doppler ultrasound to measure changes in blood volume. They also tracked pain scores, opioid use, and hospital stay length. The goal was to better understand the block's impact on circulation, not to test a new treatment.
