Playtime beats panic: new study tests distraction tricks for scared kids getting breathing therapy
NCT ID NCT06874491
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 37 times
Summary
This study looks at whether two simple, playful distractions can lower fear and anxiety in preschool children (ages 4-6) who are getting their first inhalation treatment. Kids often feel scared when they have to wear a face mask for breathing medicine. The researchers will use two age-appropriate distraction methods to see if they help children stay calm and cooperate better. About 126 children will take part, and their fear and anxiety levels will be measured using special child-friendly scales.
