New pill aims to keep blood sugar in check for years in type 2 diabetes

Summary
This study tests a medicine called imeglimin in adults with type 2 diabetes who currently manage their condition with diet and exercise. About 567 participants will take the drug for up to 3 years to see how long it keeps their blood sugar at healthy levels. The goal is to find out if imeglimin can delay the need for additional diabetes medications.
