First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study will enroll about 10,000 pregnant women in Lombok, Indonesia, to see if digital tools like WhatsApp reminders and a call center can help them stick to taking daily multiple micronutrient supplements. It will also compare two types of packaging—bottles vs. blister packs—to see which one works better. Participants will be followed through pregnancy and up to six weeks after birth.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
multiple micronutrient supplementation (MMS)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that simple digital tools and better packaging help more pregnant women take their daily supplements, potentially improving health for mothers and babies.
What could go wrong
This is an early implementation study, not a test of the supplement itself. Results may not apply to other regions, and adherence may still be low despite digital support.
