Text messages tested to fight childhood obesity – results mixed
NCT ID NCT07501546
First seen Apr 22, 2026 · Last updated Jun 20, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tested whether sending automated health tips via the LINE messaging app could help parents of obese children engage with weight management programs. Over 500 parents in Taipei were split into two groups: one got messages right away, the other after a delay. The study found that very few parents actually signed up for in-person clinic visits, suggesting digital tools alone may not be enough to drive action.
