First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated Jun 21, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests whether a digital app called MyMonka can help family caregivers of older adults who have been discharged from the emergency department. About 100 caregiver-patient pairs will use the app for 3 months, and researchers will measure changes in caregiver stress and quality of life. The goal is to see if technology can reduce the burden on unpaid caregivers.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

MyMonka digital solution (care coordination and monitoring app)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could provide a simple digital tool to reduce stress and improve quality of life for family caregivers of vulnerable adults.

What could go wrong

This is a small pilot study with only 100 participants and no comparison group, so results may not apply broadly. The tool may not significantly reduce caregiver burden.
