Protein puzzle: study seeks optimal diet for Muscle-Wasting disease
NCT ID NCT06785428
First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study aims to find out how much protein adults with facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) need each day to maintain muscle health. FSHD causes progressive muscle loss, and current protein recommendations may be too low for these individuals. Ten adults with FSHD will take part in a non-invasive test to measure their protein requirements. The results could help improve dietary advice to support muscle strength and function.
