Army tests if a Gut-Friendly diet can make you run faster
NCT ID NCT06054607
Summary
This study looked at whether eating a special type of starch that produces gut chemicals called short-chain fatty acids could improve how long and fast healthy, active adults can run. Twenty-one participants ate controlled diets with either the special starch or a regular starch for one week each, then completed a 5km treadmill run. Researchers measured run times and collected samples to understand how the diet might affect energy use and gut health during exercise.
