Breath of fresh tech: simple ultrasound could replace invasive tubes
NCT ID NCT07253480
Summary
This study is testing if a special type of ultrasound, called shear-wave elastography, can accurately measure breathing pressure without needing invasive tubes. Researchers will test this on 12 healthy adults by having them breathe against resistance while comparing the ultrasound readings to standard pressure measurements. The goal is to validate this tool so it can later be used to safely monitor patients with severe lung disease after surgery.
