Can ultrasound reveal hidden breathing problems in kids with sleep apnea?

NCT ID NCT07380321

First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looks at how well the diaphragm (the main breathing muscle) works in children aged 1-12 with obstructive sleep apnea who are having surgery. Researchers will use ultrasound to measure diaphragm movement and thickness before and after the operation. They will compare these measurements between children with sleep apnea and those without, to see if sleep apnea affects diaphragm function during surgery.
