Lung surgery without a tube: does the diaphragm take a hit?

NCT ID NCT06486168

First seen Dec 11, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looks at how often the diaphragm (the main muscle for breathing) stops working properly after a type of lung surgery done without a breathing tube. About 120 adults having this surgery will have their diaphragm checked with ultrasound right after and 24 hours later. The goal is simply to find out how common this problem is, not to test a new treatment.
