Text messages and cultural tweaks aim to fight diabetes in filipino community
NCT ID NCT05378620
Summary
This study tested a diabetes education and support program specifically adapted for Filipino-Americans. The program combined in-person peer education with daily text message reminders about diet, exercise, and medication. Researchers wanted to see if this culturally tailored approach helped 29 participants improve their diabetes knowledge, blood sugar levels, and daily self-care habits over 6 months.
