Hidden eye damage in diabetes revealed by High-Tech scans
NCT ID NCT06457295
Summary
This study aimed to understand how diabetes affects the tiny blood vessels in the eye before any visible damage occurs. Researchers used a special, non-invasive imaging scan called OCT angiography on 200 people with type 2 diabetes who had no signs of diabetic eye disease. The goal was to see if the length of time someone has had diabetes correlates with subtle changes in these blood vessels, which could help doctors detect problems earlier.
