First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study looked at 605 people with esophageal cancer who had minimally invasive surgery to remove part of their esophagus. Researchers wanted to see if having type 2 diabetes made recovery or long-term survival worse, and whether diabetes medication (metformin) or good blood sugar control helped. The goal is to better understand how diabetes affects cancer surgery results.
